Supporting Mental Health

Today, Wednesday 10th October, is World Mental Health Day. Britannia Row is committed to supporting the mental well being of all of its staff and our touring colleagues. This year we have sent 6 of our key staff on MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) courses.

Last month we attended DiGiCo’s annual quiz night. As well as an evening of fun, the event has an important aim to raise money for charity. This year it supported two key charities, StageHand and backup. BRP/BRPT Director Mike Lowe is chairman of the board of trustees at StageHand. Mike delivered a speech on behalf of StageHand focusing on industry training for mental health awareness.  StageHand encourages companies within the industry to train staff in mental health awareness. It also offers full funding to freelancers wishing to take the two day Mental Health First Aid course. StageHand is the welfare and benevolent fund for the Production Services Association. Please see the PSA website for more details. https://www.psa.org.uk/about/welfare-benevolent-fund

Big thanks to DiGiCo for their help and support.
