Salary:                                c. £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Role Purpose:

This is a hands-on first line support role. You will provide support to people when they have an IT issue, need a new machine, or when they need general IT support.

You’ll work closely with our UK IT lead and be part of a broader EMEA IT setup. You’ll be trusted to work autonomously, while taking full ownership of your responsibilities and delivering daily tasks to deadline.

 

Responsibilities and duties:

 1.    Operational

  • First level support for users (Windows, Office, general end user IT enquiries)
  • Setting up and deploying laptops and desktops
  • Keeping track of assets and stock control (monitoring what stock is where and who is holding the asset, as well as identification of what may be missing)
  • Basic troubleshooting (and knowing when to escalate)
  • Handling simple user/admin tasks in Active Directory
  • Supporting HR with onboarding/offboarding of employees
  • Providing IT induction to all new starters
  • Helping coordinate rollouts when we change or introduce software globally.

 2.    Stakeholder management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Communicating with stakeholders, both locally and across the wider EMEA.

 3.    Company -general

  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others who may be impacted by your acts or omissions, comply with all relevant policies and procedures, and promptly report any hazards or concerns.

  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably required by the company.

 

Person specification & skills:

  • Technical:
    • Demonstrable experience of real-life IT support (minimum of 1-2years), assisting real users (not labs)
    • Ability to understand problems instead of just clicking through them
    • Demonstrable experience of working to tight deadlines, with ability to work efficiently
  • Knowledge of:
    • Windows
    • Microsoft Office / 365
    • General end-user troubleshooting
  • Additional understanding of:
    • Active Directory
    • Windows Server
  • Desirable skills:
    • Cisco Webex
    • Cisco Meraki / Cisco switching
    • VMware
  • Communication & approach to work:
    • Confident communicator, with clear communication (especially when things go wrong)
    • Adaptable, eager to learn, and thrives in dynamic environments
    • Drive, ambition, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure environments, particularly when something breaks
    • Takes an active responsibility and ownership of tasks
    • Enjoys maintaining high standards, with a highly detail-oriented approach to work
    • Fantastic approach to teamworking, with a natural ‘can do’ attitude.
  •  General:    
    • Eligible to work in the UK
    • 35 hours per week, five in seven days (Monday to Sunday). This role is required onsite every day, except weekend days
    • You are expected to work a minimum of 16 weekend days in a calendar year.  This may be worked remotely
